Ingredients

  • 1-2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 cup milk or milk alternative
  • Sweetener (granulated sugar, honey, or agave syrup)
  • 1/2 cup tapioca pearls
  • Water (for preparing matcha and tapioca)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tapioca pearls by boiling them for about 15 minutes and letting them sit in water for another 15 minutes. Drain and rinse.
  2. In a small bowl, mix 1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder with a splash of hot water, whisking until smooth.
  3. In a tall glass, layer the tapioca pearls and pour in the milk of choice. Add sweetener to taste and then pour in the whisked matcha.
  4. Gently stir, add ice if desired, and enjoy with a straw.
