Ingredients
- 4 Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Water (for baking)
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, oats, or caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash and core the apples without piercing the bottom.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then add vanilla, sour cream, lemon juice, and spices. Mix well.
- Stuff the hollowed apples generously with the cheesecake mixture.
- Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish, adding a little water at the bottom to keep them moist, and cover with foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until apples are tender and topped are golden.
- Serve warm, possibly with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce.
Notes
Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing. Don’t skip the water in the baking dish to prevent drying.
