Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 1-2 teaspoons green food coloring
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just incorporated.
- Stir in green food coloring until you achieve desired hue.
- Chill dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Roll chilled dough into small balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
- Place on lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
- Allow to cool on baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a fun twist, consider adding chocolate chips or peppermint extract.
