Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pound chicken breasts to even thickness and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with beaten eggs, one with breadcrumbs mixed with Italian herbs, and one with marinara sauce.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven, spoon marinara over each piece, sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  6. Return to oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
