Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ones until just mixed.
  5. Fold in the M&M’s, reserving a handful for the tops of the cookies.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Gently press the reserved M&M’s into the tops of the cookie dough mounds.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are still chewy.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For perfectly round cookies, use a cookie scoop. Experiment with different M&M flavors for variety.
