Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
- Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt in another bowl.
- Add the dry mix gradually to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries.
- Blend the cream cheese and sugar in a separate bowl.
- Spread half of the cake batter in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon dollops of cream cheese mixture over the batter and swirl gently.
- Top with remaining batter and sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serve.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of vanilla to the cream cheese mixture.
