Delightful cookies combining rich chocolate and fragrant rose water for a unique twist on a classic treat.

  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Rose Water
  • 2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • Optional: Dried Rose Petals for garnish
  • Pinch of Sea Salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and both sugars until smooth and light.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the rose water.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips (and rose petals, if using) carefully.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or two spoons, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over each cookie before baking.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  10. Let cool on the sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil or vegan butter. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can enhance the flavor and prevent excessive spreading.
