  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Flank, sirloin, or ribeye steak
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 3 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp Grated ginger
  • 2 cups Jasmine or sushi rice
  • 2 cups Mixed bell peppers, onions, and carrots
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise or sour cream
  • 2 tbsp Gochujang
  • 1 Lime, juiced
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • Chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until sugar dissolves.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Place your sliced steak into the marinade, ensuring each piece is coated well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to a few hours.
  3. Cook the Rice: Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Cook it according to package instructions, adding salt.
  4. Sauté the Vegetables: Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sauté your chosen vegetables until tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
  5. Cook the Steak: In the same pan, cook the marinated steak slices over high heat for about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Prepare the Spicy Cream Sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise with gochujang, lime juice, and honey. Adjust spice level to taste.
  7. Assemble Your Bowls: In serving bowls, layer rice, sautéed vegetables, and cooked steak. Drizzle spicy cream sauce on top.
  8. Garnish: Finish with sesame seeds, green onions, or fresh herbs.

Notes

Ensure not to overcook the steak for the best texture. Feel free to customize the ingredients as per your preference.
