A flavorful and easy-to-make roasted turkey breast recipe, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • Total Time: 150 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 bone-in, skin-on turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 onion, cut into quarters
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Blend softened butter with minced garlic, chopped herbs, and lemon zest.
  4. Loosen the skin over the breast and massage the butter mixture onto the meat.
  5. Place the quartered onion and garlic cloves inside the cavity of the turkey breast.
  6. Put the turkey in a roasting pan and add broth to the bottom.
  7. Cover loosely with foil and roast for about 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil in the last 30 minutes to crisp the skin.
  9. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer (165°F/74°C).
  10. Rest the turkey for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
  11. Use pan drippings to make a rich gravy.

Notes

Let the turkey rest to ensure juiciness. Basting frequently will maintain moisture.
