Ingredients
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 8 oz Mushrooms, chopped (button or cremini recommended)
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 1 tablespoon Fresh or Dried Herbs (parsley, dill, or thyme)
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper or chili flakes (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon Butter or Olive Oil (for sautéing)
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Finely chop onions and garlic, and clean and slice mushrooms into small pieces.
- Sauté onions in skillet over medium heat with butter until translucent, then add garlic for 1 minute.
- Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Combine cream cheese, sour cream, salt, pepper, and herbs; stir until smooth.
- Finish off with hot sauce or chili flakes to taste.
- Serve in a bowl, warm or refrigerated, and garnish with herbs or paprika if desired.
Notes
For a fun twist, try adding different vegetables or adjust the spice level to your preference.
