Ingredients
- 2 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Combine in another bowl the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Add the chopped apples and fold gently to distribute them throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, testing with a toothpick for doneness.
- Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing into squares.
Notes
Dust with powdered sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
