Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars: In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add in the eggs and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
  5. Combine the mixtures by gradually adding dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing gently.
  6. Fold in the rainbow sprinkles, reserving a few for the tops of the cookies.
  7. Scoop and drop mounds of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Top with reserved sprinkles.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Keep an eye on the cookies while baking to prevent overbaking.
