Sautéed garlic mushrooms that are quick, easy, and packed with flavor, perfect for any meal.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms (any variety)
  • 2-3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh or dried herbs (thyme, oregano, or parsley)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by cleaning your mushrooms gently with a damp cloth. Cut them in half or quarters, depending on their size.
  2. Heat your skillet over medium heat and melt the butter or heat the oil.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Cook the mushrooms in the skillet, stirring to coat them. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and tender.
  5. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs. Add lemon juice to awaken flavors.
  6. Transfer to a plate and serve warm as a side dish or on bruschetta.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the skillet to ensure mushrooms are beautifully caramelized rather than steamed.
