Ingredients
- 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms (any variety)
- 2-3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh or dried herbs (thyme, oregano, or parsley)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Begin by cleaning your mushrooms gently with a damp cloth. Cut them in half or quarters, depending on their size.
- Heat your skillet over medium heat and melt the butter or heat the oil.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Cook the mushrooms in the skillet, stirring to coat them. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and tender.
- Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs. Add lemon juice to awaken flavors.
- Transfer to a plate and serve warm as a side dish or on bruschetta.
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the skillet to ensure mushrooms are beautifully caramelized rather than steamed.
