Ingredients
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 4 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Make the Cookie Dough: In a medium bowl, mix together 2 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder. In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of unsalted butter and 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, followed by 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Chill and Roll: Divide the dough in half, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Shape and Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out fun shapes. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cream Cheese Frosting: For the frosting, beat together 8 oz of cream cheese and ½ cup of unsalted butter until smooth. Gradually add 4 cups of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until creamy and smooth!
- Decorate: Let the cookies cool completely before frosting. Spread a generous layer of frosting and add colorful sprinkles or festive decorations.
- Enjoy: Gather your loved ones, serve your cookies, and enjoy the smiles they bring!
