Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter (or coconut oil)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 large eggs (or 1 flax egg)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or almond extract)
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (or dark cocoa powder)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a small baking dish (8×8 inches works great).
- Melt ½ cup of unsalted butter over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave.
- Stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, stirring vigorously after each addition.
- Mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Sift in ⅓ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder and ½ cup of all-purpose flour; fold gently until just combined.
- Pour your batter into the greased pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let them cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the batter and be mindful of baking time to keep brownies soft.
