Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup M&Ms (preferably festive colors)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Stir in the M&Ms until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For extra chewiness, chill the cookie dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can use chocolate chips as a substitute for M&Ms.
