Ingredients
- 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
- 1 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
- 1/2 cup Peanut Butter (optional)
- 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 Egg (or flax egg)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the pumpkin puree, applesauce, and peanut butter (if using) in a large mixing bowl.
- Combine the whole wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg in another bowl.
- Blend the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough to ½ inch thickness on a floured surface and cut into shapes.
- Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet about an inch apart.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are lightly brown.
- Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Notes
These cookies can be frozen for up to three months and are safe for dogs when made without added sugars.
