Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or swirls of peanut butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your heart-shaped pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals until smooth.
- Whisk together granulated sugar and brown sugar with the melted chocolate mixture.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Stir in the flour gently until just combined.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely, then cut into heart shapes.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, feel free to substitute with gluten-free flour mix. Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for best results.
