Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, forming a cohesive dough.
  2. Chill your dough for at least 30 minutes to help the flavors meld.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
