- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your heart-shaped baking pan.
- Beat the unsalted butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy and light (3-5 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sea salt in a separate bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkle some on top for a beautiful finish.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Consider frosting or dusting with powdered sugar while cooling for an added touch.
