Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with butter or line with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Incorporate the butter or coconut oil until crumbly with pea-sized clumps.
- Reserve about ⅔ of the mixture for topping and press the rest into the baking dish to create a crust.
- Spread the cherry preserves evenly over the crust.
- Top with the reserved oat mixture, ensuring even coverage.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Cool in the pan before slicing into squares.
