Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 tablespoons fresh herbs (basil, parsley, or thyme)
- 1 pinch garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, and garlic powder.
- Combine the wet ingredients in a separate bowl: Mix the grated cheese, eggs, and olive oil until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients into the dry mix gradually and stir until the dough begins to form, kneading if necessary.
- Chop the fresh herbs and fold them into the dough.
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Notes
Ensure treats are golden but not burnt, and allow cooling time for the texture to set.
