Ingredients
- 1 loaf of hearty bread (sourdough or baguette)
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 4-5 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
- 1-2 cups of shredded cheese (mozzarella, gouda, sharp cheddar)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried herbs (oregano or basil)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, then add minced garlic, cooking until golden.
- Stir in salt, pepper, and herbs into the garlic butter.
- Slice the bread into 1-inch thick pieces and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush each slice with the garlic butter mixture.
- Pile the cheese on top of each slice.
- Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until bubbly and golden brown; broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispier finish, if desired.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil before serving.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
