Ingredients
- 1 pound Fresh Scallops
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 3-4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- Fresh Lemon Juice and Zest from 1 lemon
- Sea Salt, to taste
- Black Pepper, to taste
- Fresh Parsley or Chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Scallops: Rinse the scallops under cold water, then pat them dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides of the scallops with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil until shimmering.
- Sear the scallops for 2-3 minutes on one side until a golden crust forms, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add butter, garlic, lemon juice, and zest to the skillet, swirling gently until the butter melts and coats the scallops.
- Finish with freshly chopped parsley or chives.
- Serve promptly with the lemon butter sauce drizzled over the top.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the pan and ensure scallops are dry for the best sear.
