Delightful sandwiches filled with sweet strawberries and creamy cheesecake, enveloped in crispy, buttery bread.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Bread (white, brioche, or whole grain)
  • Full-fat cream cheese
  • Fresh strawberries (or frozen, drained)
  • Granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • Egg (for egg wash)
  • Cinnamon or vanilla extract (optional)
  • Butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Wash and hull strawberries, then slice into small pieces. Mix with sugar and a dash of cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. Beat cream cheese with more sugar until smooth in another bowl, then combine with the strawberry mixture.
  3. Lay out slices of bread, spread cream cheese and strawberry filling on one slice, and top with another slice to form a sandwich.
  4. Whisk one egg with a tablespoon of water or milk in a small bowl for an egg wash.
  5. Dip the edges of each sandwich into the egg wash.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add butter, and fry the sandwiches until golden (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  7. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate sauce, if desired.

Notes

For a sweeter filling, try cream cheese frosting instead of plain cream cheese. Use other berries like blueberries or raspberries as alternatives.
