Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  2. Spread the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Melt the butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a gentle boil (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake for 5-7 minutes until the toffee bubbles and darkens slightly.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let them soften and then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  7. Sprinkle sea salt over the chocolate and let cool on the counter for an hour, then refrigerate for another hour.
  8. Once cooled, break into shards and enjoy!
