Ingredients
- Ground Meat (beef, sausage, or a blend)
- Lasagna Noodles
- Tomato Sauce
- Vegetable or Chicken Broth
- Diced Tomatoes
- Fresh Garlic
- Diced Onions
- Italian Seasoning
- Cheese (Ricotta, Mozzarella, Parmesan)
- Fresh Herbs (Parsley or Basil)
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat some olive oil and sauté diced onions and minced garlic until soft and aromatic.
- Add the ground meat and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and a splash of broth. Stir well.
- Toss in the broken lasagna noodles and more broth, then allow to simmer until the noodles are cooked through.
- Lower the heat, add Italian seasoning, and stir in dollops of ricotta cheese.
- Before serving, top with shredded mozzarella and freshly chopped herbs.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, swap ground meat for a plant-based protein and use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta.
