  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: In a large pot of salted water, bring the pasta to a boil. Follow package instructions until al dente, stirring occasionally. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Incorporate the Pasta: Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic-infused butter to ensure it’s evenly coated.
  4. Add Cheese and Pepper: Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan and freshly cracked black pepper while tossing the pasta. If the mixture appears dry, add reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired creaminess is achieved.
  5. Taste and Season: Season with salt to taste, adding more black pepper if you love extra spice.
