- 1 loaf crusty bread (sourdough or French baguette)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1-2 cups melting cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a blend)
- Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice your loaf of bread into thick pieces, about an inch thick.
- In a skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and light golden, about 1-2 minutes.
- Brush each slice of bread with the sautéed garlic and butter mixture and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Top each slice generously with your chosen cheese.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and bread edges are golden brown.
- Remove from oven, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter option, you can use olive oil instead of butter. Fresh ingredients make a significant difference in flavor.
