Ingredients
- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Nutmeg, freshly grated
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Scoop out cookie dough using a tablespoon and shape into balls. Optionally, roll in extra sugar.
- Spread the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
- Cool the cookies on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients and fresh nutmeg. Don’t overbake to maintain a chewy texture.
