Ingredients
- 8 oz chocolate wafers or chocolate chips (dark, milk, or white)
- 1 cup hot chocolate mix
- ½ cup crushed peppermint (candy canes)
- ½ cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Melt the chosen chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, stirring frequently until smooth.
- Using a silicone mold, scoop a spoonful of melted chocolate into each cavity and spread to form the shells.
- Chill the molds in the fridge for about 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
- Remove the hardened chocolate shells from the molds.
- Add a spoonful of hot chocolate mix, some crushed peppermint, and mini marshmallows into the bottom half of each shell.
- Warm a plate in the microwave and press the open side of the unfilled shell against it to soften the edge, then press it onto the filled half to seal.
- Optional: Drizzle melted chocolate on top and sprinkle with extra crushed peppermint.
- To enjoy, heat a cup of milk to steaming, drop in the hot chocolate bomb, and watch the transformation.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate and ensure the shells are thick enough to hold the filling. Do not overheat the chocolate.
