  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Drop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown and centers are puffed.
  8. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking to prevent spreading.
