Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with vinegar)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your donut pan with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients—flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon. Whisk until well-blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients—buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Ensure the mixture is smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mix, stirring gently until there’s no dry flour left. Be careful not to overmix.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag (or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off) for easy filling of your donut pan.
- Fill each mold about halfway, allowing space for the donuts to rise.
- Bake in your preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until golden and springy.
- While the donuts bake, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and a splash of milk in a bowl, adjusting as desired.
- Once removed from the oven, let the donuts cool for a few minutes before dunking them in your glaze.
- Finally, sprinkle with colorful edible glitter or additional cinnamon sugar if desired.
