- Beef (Roast or Brisket)
- Puff pastry
- Fresh mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)
- Onions (red or yellow)
- Garlic (fresh preferred)
- Fresh herbs (thyme or parsley)
- American or Swiss cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the beef with salt and pepper, roast it until cooked to your liking, then let it rest before slicing thinly.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and caramelize the onions, then add garlic and chopped mushrooms and sauté until tender.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles. Layer beef, mushroom mixture, and cheese on one half and fold over, sealing edges.
- Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve with beef broth for dipping.
Notes
Avoid overstuffing the squares, and make sure to allow the beef to rest before slicing. Cool slightly before serving for the best texture.
