Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms (button or cremini)
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- Fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, or basil)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Burger buns or lettuce wraps for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients by gathering all items and chopping larger mushrooms if necessary.
- Sauté the mushrooms in a skillet with butter, garlic, salt, and pepper until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Form ground beef into equally-sized patties and season as desired.
- Lay each patty in the center of large aluminum foil sheets, topping with sautéed mushrooms and Swiss cheese.
- Seal the foil packets tightly, leaving space for steam to circulate.
- Grill over medium heat for 15-20 minutes or bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes until cooked through (160°F internal temperature).
- Let packets rest briefly before serving with burger buns or lettuce wraps.
Notes
Keep grill heat consistent and prevent overcrowding in packets for best results. Feel free to add extra veggies and customize individual packets.
