  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 20 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 8 oz dark chocolate
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk, and peppermint extract until a thick dough forms.
  2. Dust hands with powdered sugar, roll the dough into balls, and flatten into discs about 1/4 inch thick on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth, adding vegetable oil for shine if desired.
  5. Dip each chilled patty into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  6. Place back on the parchment-lined sheet and chill until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute sweetened condensed milk with milk and a bit of sugar, and use semi-sweet chocolate if preferred. Crush peppermint candies for added texture.
