Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • Extra cinnamon sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, salt, and melted butter. Add the yeast mixture and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, around 60 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll tightly into a log and cut into pieces about 2 inches wide.
  5. Place each piece in a muffin tin, cover with a towel, and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cruffins for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar and vanilla extract, adding milk until desired consistency is reached.
  8. Once cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over your cruffins and sprinkle with extra cinnamon sugar for finishing touch.
