A delightful and easy-to-make dessert that combines the flavors of pecan pie and cake for a warm and comforting treat.

  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 package (about 15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, stir in the brown sugar and eggs until well combined.
  3. Add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing until blended. Gently fold in the pecans.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the yellow cake mix on top of the pecan mixture without stirring.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the top of the cake mix.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbling around the edges.
  7. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

For a unique twist, substitute pecans with walnuts or almond extract instead of vanilla.
