Delightful cinnamon rolls infused with crushed Oreos for a gooey twist on a classic favorite.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Milk as needed for frosting consistency

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine yeast, warm milk, and a spoonful of sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt. Then combine both mixtures and gradually add flour, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Knead and Rise: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the Filling: Crush Oreo cookies and mix with sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll Out the Dough: Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface and spread melted butter evenly over it.
  6. Add the Filling: Sprinkle the Oreo mixture over the dough and roll it tightly to form a log.
  7. Slice and Arrange: Cut the log into 1-2 inch thick rolls and place them cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
  8. Final Rise: Cover and let the rolls rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  9. Baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  10. Make the Frosting: Mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  11. Frost and Serve: Apply the frosting once the rolls have cooled slightly.

Notes

Before serving, consider adding a drizzle of cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls for extra flavor!
