Ingredients
- Thick-cut bread (brioche or challah)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk (whole milk or buttermilk)
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- Icing (powdered sugar and milk mixed together)
Instructions
- Cut bread into 1-inch bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Soak the bread cubes in the egg mixture for about 10 minutes.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the soaked bread pieces in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make icing.
- Serve the bites warm with icing drizzled on top.
Notes
For lighter bites, reduce sugar and serve with fresh fruit. Consider adding grated zucchini or chopped apples for added nutrition.
