Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup molasses

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, for frosting
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and spices. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
