Ingredients
- 2 cups pretzels, crushed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the Pretzel Crust: In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and brown sugar. Press firmly into the bottom of a lined 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Make the Caramel Layer: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, and butter. Stir until the mixture thickens (about 5–6 minutes). Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract.
- Assemble the Bars: Pour the warm caramel over the pretzel crust, spreading evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour until set.
- Finishing Touches: Once set, sprinkle sea salt over the top.
- Cut and Serve: Slice into bars and serve cold. They can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
Notes
Make sure to cool the crust before pouring the warm caramel to maintain layers. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
