Ingredients
- 8 oz Smoked Gouda, grated
- 2 medium Sweet yellow onions, sliced
- 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup Sour cream
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1-2 tbsp Butter
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh thyme and rosemary, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter and add sliced onions. Cook slowly for about 20-30 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
- In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and minced garlic. Beat until smooth.
- Grate your smoked Gouda and fold it into your cream cheese mixture. Add fresh herbs if desired.
- Fold the caramelized onions into the dip base until well distributed.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm with your favorite dippers.
