A smoky, creamy dip made with caramelized onions and smoked Gouda, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Smoked Gouda, grated
  • 2 medium Sweet yellow onions, sliced
  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1-2 tbsp Butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme and rosemary, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter and add sliced onions. Cook slowly for about 20-30 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
  2. In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and minced garlic. Beat until smooth.
  3. Grate your smoked Gouda and fold it into your cream cheese mixture. Add fresh herbs if desired.
  4. Fold the caramelized onions into the dip base until well distributed.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm with your favorite dippers.
