Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or blend)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart until fully cooked. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in sliced mushrooms, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook until the mushrooms are tender.
  4. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine cooked beef, noodles, sour cream, and half of your cheese.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is golden.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Tip: For a golden top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, keeping an eye on it.
