Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or blend)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart until fully cooked. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook until the mushrooms are tender.
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked beef, noodles, sour cream, and half of your cheese.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Tip: For a golden top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, keeping an eye on it.
