Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1-2 vanilla beans
- 1 packet gelatin
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Prep Your Ingredients: Gather all your ingredients and prepare the gelatin according to package instructions.
- Simmer the Cream: In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium until just about to simmer.
- Add Vanilla: Off the heat, split vanilla beans and scrape seeds into the mixture. Add the pods and steep for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the Gelatin: In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in cool water. Once it blooms, stir into the warm cream mixture.
- Strain and Pour: Strain the mixture into a pitcher. Pour into molds or glasses.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Serve: Un-mold onto plates or serve from cups. Top with berries or drizzle of honey.
Notes
Use quality vanilla beans for the best flavor. Chill thoroughly for a firmer texture.
