Delightful turnovers filled with sweet strawberries and creamy cheese, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, halved
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Thaw the puff pastry in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine strawberries, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla; mash slightly.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
  4. Spoon filling onto each square, fold to form triangles, and seal edges.
  5. Brush tops with egg wash and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For extra sweetness, sprinkle with powdered sugar after cooling. Can freeze unbaked turnovers and bake from frozen.
