Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, halved
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- Thaw the puff pastry in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine strawberries, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla; mash slightly.
- Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
- Spoon filling onto each square, fold to form triangles, and seal edges.
- Brush tops with egg wash and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For extra sweetness, sprinkle with powdered sugar after cooling. Can freeze unbaked turnovers and bake from frozen.
