A rich and gooey chocolate cake cooked slowly with layers of caramel for a decadent treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Grease the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, pudding mix, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until blended and gradually add hot water until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the batter into the greased slow cooker and drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it.
  4. Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the caramel sauce.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, avoiding opening the lid.
  6. Once done, let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Optional: serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For substitutions, you can use vanilla cake mix or gluten-free options. For added richness, replace regular butter with unsalted or coconut oil.
