Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (plus more for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin or agar-agar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • Optional: 1/2 cup creamy blue cheese or ricotta
  • Optional: zest of 1 lime or orange

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine room temperature cream cheese with the powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gently fold in the whipped cream, a spoonful at a time.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat warm water and sprinkle gelatin over it. Stir until fully dissolved and mix into the cheese mixture.
  4. Fold in desired flavors, such as vanilla extract or lemon zest, along with a pinch of sea salt.
  5. Pour half of the mixture into dessert cups and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set before adding the second layer.
  6. Once set, pour in the second layer and refrigerate again until firm.
  7. Finish with a sprinkle of sea salt and serve chilled with citrus or berries.
