Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak (or sirloin)
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 onion (sweet or yellow)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips.
- In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add marinated flank steak to the pan, searing for about 2-3 minutes.
- Push the beef to the side and add minced garlic, cooking until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add the sliced bell peppers and onions, stir-frying for roughly 4-5 minutes.
- Pour in more soy sauce, stir to combine, and add green onions just before finishing.
- Serve hot over rice or in tortillas, garnished with extra green onions or sesame seeds.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure the meat sears properly.
