Delightful cookies combining the earthy notes of matcha with the sweetness of white chocolate, perfect for any gathering.

  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or chunks
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold this mixture into the wet ingredients.
  5. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips or chunks until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart to allow for spreading.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before baking.
